The Best of SNO Award was won by Shirene Khandpur for her article "Queer Representation and Relationships" on February 19, 2024. It is given by Student Newspapers Online (SNO) to recognize outstanding student journalism. The award showcases the best work from the more than 3,000 student news sites that use SNO Sites software and receives nearly 14,000 submissions for Best of SNO each year. The Best of SNO award is highly competitive and selective, with only about 10% of submissions receiving recognition. Reviewers look for stories that are engaging, concise, relevant, and polished, and that follow sound journalistic practices. They also expect stories to appeal to an audience beyond the school community and to provide a larger context.
